Much like many of my friend’s cute blogs, I let mine slide a bit. Life gets in the way and my images sit on my computer, unblogged for months now. My photography blog takes up most of my spare blogger time, so I’ve decided to merge the two. Please visit blog.lindseyculverphotography.com for not only my client sessions, but also our personal life.
And here’s a sweet photo to hold you over…

A little embarrassing, but I have started to really like this song. As bad as it is, I get it stuck in my head for days. Especially after the awesome Glee remake this week. Happy Friday!
I don’t really like to talk politics on any social media networks…or really in real life because a) I live in Alabama and the South, so most people don’t agree with me, and b) I am not going to change my mind nor change anybody else’s, so what is the point?
Celebration and joy are definitely not feelings I’m having today. I think a lot of people are feeling a great deal of closure today after ten years, and for that I am thankful. I read this quote on facebook and it really spoke to me. Note: After some research, I found that the first part of the following quote was written by the facebook author, while the remainder was that of Dr. King. Many people copied and pasted, claiming Martin Luther King, Jr. to have said the entire quote, which is false. See article here if you are interested, and always research any quote/forward/etc. before sending on! 😉
I will mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy.

Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.
-Martin Luther King, Jr.
After a loooooong two weeks of waiting, well fifteen weeks if you count the moment I found out I was pregnant, but we finally find out tomorrow the sex of the baby! So excited. The grandmas will be joining us and we’ll do some celebratory baby shopping after. I’ve dreamt all week about having a boy and then having a girl, so I really have no gut feeling whatsoever. Ready for 9am tomorrow!
The Summer Day
Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean-
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down-
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?
I’ve been an avid blog reader for quite some time, so thought I would join the world and start my own.
I hope you’ll come back and visit often.
